IRCC’s new pathway to becoming a permanent resident of Canada was a wonderful opportunity for international students in Canada. With many successfully applied students, there are so many International graduates who missed their chance of applying for this new pathway program.
For those who failed to apply due to number of reasons, need not to be disappointed as the Immigration Minister of Canada Marco Mendicino, has mentioned in his recent interview that they might raise the current cap for permanent residency depending upon the quality of received applications.
As we all know, IRCC announced 90000 seats for the new TR to PR Pathway out of which 20000 seats were allotted to Health Care workers, 30000 seats were allotted to Essential workers and the maximum seats were in the favor of International Graduates with 40000 seats in total. It is of no surprise that the cap got filled in just one day after its opening.
However, the seats for Health Care worker and Essential workers are still open till November 2021 or till the time it reaches its limit. Therefore, International students can still apply for these streams if they worked in required NOC stream for 1560 hours in past 3 years.
Canada is expecting over a million of newcomers to Canada by the end of 2023 and for this they are also considering candidates with low scores for express entry. IRCC is introducing many new ways for these newcomers to become a permanent resident of Canada for its economic growth and to fulfil the labor market needs. Below, we have some ongoing programs to become a permanent resident of Canada.
