Covid Updates on Immigration
February 5 – Foreign nationals on a visitor visa whose temporary status may soon expire can apply for an extension and maintain their temporary resident status in Canada.
February 18 – IRCC issued a notification citing details for work permit holders with regards to travel in Canada.
Express Entry Draws
February 13 – IRCC issued the biggest lot of invitations To Apply (ITAs) in Canadian immigration history, issuing ITAs to 27,332 applicants under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) stream with the lowest CRS score of 75.

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) updates
February 16 – OINP issued targeted Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to candidates qualifying under the Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream with the CRS cut-off range 453 – 467.
February 2 – OINP issued targeted NOIs to candidates qualifying under the Express Entry Human Capital Priorities stream with the CRS cut-off range 466 – 467.
Other Provincial Updates
February 11 – Saskatchewan issued 541 Expressions of Interest (EOIs) with the lowest score of 72 on the SINP points calculator with 344 applicants under the Express Entry stream and 197 under Occupations in demand stream.

February 18 – Prince Edward Island issued EOIs to 121 candidates under multiple streams most of which were from the Express Entry and Labour Impact streams.
Other Major Updates
February 8 – Residents of Hong Kong will be eligible to apply for an open work permit under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
February 12 – As a part of the Canadian government’s efforts to support international students, the IRCC minister Honourable Marco E.L. Mendicino announced measures for students studying virtually from their home country to be eligible for PGWP.
February 22 – In addition to the existing COVID – 19 travel restrictions, the Government of Canada has issued more stringent quarantine requirements for individuals traveling to Canada both by land and air.
